AN INCREDIBLE FACTORY, FOR A UNIQUE KNOW-HOW
In the Ouche region in Normandy flows a river that once provided the hydraulic power needed to manufacture our products. It is here, in Saint-Sulpice-sur-Risle, in historic buildings, that our production workshops are located. On ancestral machines, the needle makers perpetuate a unique know-how. They create sewing needles, glass head pins, ball bracelets... and other smaller products.
Their movements, inherited from former employees, are accurate. Their ears are tuned in to the sound of the machines which they know by heart. Their crafts are unique, and the quality of their semi-handmade products is beyond compare. A strong poetic aesthetic emanates from these workshops where the needles come to life. In 27 stages and 2 months of production, Isabelle, Karine, Perrine, Sylvie, Christophe, Loïc and Victor create BOHIN needles, renowned for their incomparable glide. You'll never see your needles in the same way again!
BOHIN isn't just about needles
We also produce Murano glass head pins, ball safety pins and pincushions.

« At BOHIN, we made art »
Christophe, a needleworker at BOHIN, loves this singular work, where manual gestures remain important. He loves his machines, which he calls his "grandmothers", and has given each of them a little name... chosen for their similarities to his grandmothers' characters.
Did you know? The production workshops are open all year round to groups of more than 20 visitors, and from April to October to individual visitors.
BOHIN, A LABEL OF QUALITY
BOHIN is labeled Living Heritage Company
Awarded after a rigorous examination, the aim of this label is to reward small and medium-sized companies that are emblematic of French industrial or craft excellence. The criteria focus in particular on the mastery of advanced, renowned or traditional skills, generally associated with a particular area, and highlight the high added value of 'made in France' manufacturing in the eyes of national and international buyers.
Did you know? Our hand sewing needles are the last to be made in France.
Nothing less than high quality!
The quality and durability of our tools are essential to us. Whether it's our own products or those outsourced to our manufacturing partners, our standards are always very high. In France, Europe and the rest of the world, over the last 150 years we have built up a network of trusted companies to develop products under our own brand name.
Between our own production and that of our partners, today 70% of BOHIN products are made in France and Europe.
Did you know? All BOHIN products go through the Saint-Sulpice-sur-Risle factory. There, they are checked, packaged and stored by our teams before being sent out to fill haberdashers, shops and specialised websites.
We were part of it!
BOHIN was the Orne company selected for the first "Made in France" exhibition, which took place at the "Palais de l'Élysée" in Paris in January 2020. This was a great opportunity for our needles, which were in the spotlight during this exceptional weekend. The opening, attended by the presidential couple, was an opportunity for Audrey to point out that "Without needles, we'd all be naked!
